Sunsetting Shusseki.
After careful consideration, we have decided to sunset Shusseki.
Due to ongoing difficulties in reliably fetching attendance
data, we believe this is the most responsible course of action
moving forward. We sincerely thank all our users who supported
Shusseki throughout its journey. Your enthusiasm and feedback
have been invaluable to us.
Shusseki relied on a separate
Attendance Detail Page
from Loyola College’s ERP system to fetch attendance data. This page
required users to log in using their Register Number and Date of Birth.
It displayed only the student’s name and attendance information; no
other personal data was accessed or shown.
User security and privacy have always been a top priority for us.
The next version of Shusseki was planned to include additional safeguards
such as a passcode, two-factor authentication, and enhanced security
measures.
Unfortunately, the technical administration has removed the attendance
detail page that Shusseki depended on to function. Without access
to this page, Shusseki can no longer provide its core feature of fetching
and displaying attendance data. Additionally, we have noticed that the shusseki.co.in domain
has been blocked within the college network, further restricting access
for many users.
While we explored alternative methods to retrieve attendance data,
none were viable without compromising user security and privacy. To
ensure the safety of our users, we chose not to pursue these alternatives.
We strongly believe that transparency builds trust, and we initially
planned to open-source the entire Shusseki codebase. However, due
to the sudden removal of the attendance detail page, we are unable
to proceed with open-sourcing the project.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause
and appreciate your understanding. We kindly request that users continue
using the same old ERP system provided by the college to check attendance.
Any session data stored on your device will automatically expire after
15 days.
